Kobe Bryant was an award-winning basketball star. He played for the NBA Los Angeles Lakers and was an idol to many. Although he was more than just a basketball player; he was a father to four girls, a husband, and a son. Many fans were saddened to read the news of the beloved star’s death. On Sunday, January 26th, at around 9:45 am, 911 operators got the call that there had been a helicopter crash outside of Calabasas, California. Everyone onboard, a total of nine individuals, died in the crash. Kobe and the passengers were on their way to Thousand Oaks, California for a game Gianna Bryant and her teammate, who was also on the helicopter, were playing in. Bryant inspired many to push themselves harder and to do better. Shaun Worley, a hard-working athlete and student says, “Kobe inspired me to work harder and taught me the value of being determined. He encouraged others to not let your stature and upbringing determine the odds of your talent, and to remember, certain circumstances do not define who you are and what you are capable of.” Like Kobe once said, “Heroes come and go, but legends are forever.” He left an imprint on this earth and will always be commemorated and remembered.
