GC BEARS SUPPORT BREAST CANCER AWARENESS
If October had a color most people would assume orange and black. However it’s really a different color a color that represents a serious issue. Pink. Breast cancer awareness. Last year, nearly 280,000 people were diagnosed with breast cancer. That’s a lot of people. Our Bears have come together to raise money and awareness for breast cancer.
Our victorious volleyball girls posted a bake sale to raise money for breast cancer awareness. They raised a whopping $479! their annual “Dig Pink” game was a success and our girls show their support by wearing their bright pink t-shirts all throughout the game. Our volleyball girls were not the only ones who raised awareness, our cheerleading Bears wore hot pink bows and had super cute bright pom poms!
Prior to the game against Cape Fear, our very own Creek Crazies hosted the first “Creek Crazy Tailgate!” Students were able to purchase a “Pink Out” t-shirt from the Creek Crazies and get into the game for free! The stands were flooded with bright pink colors and awareness was most definitely raised! Thank you to all of our Bears for showing your support for breast cancer awareness month!
